I had Mary Ann as a therapist between 2023-2025, roughly. During that time I had multiple crises and needed mental health support, but did not get that from her. She was overly clinical yet didn’t say anything of value — the only reason I say “clinical” is that she did not make an effort to connect emotionally, and her primary motivation was payment and minutes. We had telehealth sessions where I could see in her glasses reflection she was doing something else (and this was confirmed by her AI-like responses of “that sounds hard” or “I’m sorry”).
Overall, I am truly sorry that I stuck with her as long as I did. Sticking to the facts and not editorializing: she offered me little support. When I had an attempt, her only outreach was asking why I missed my session and that I would be charged the $200, not covered by insurance, no show fee (I was incapacitated and in the hospital). I think that speaks for itself, and I won’t get into her character that at most times came off as condescending.
