I was a patient of Kamal Sami Ajam. I had been a patient for approximately 10 years. All of a sudden I was informed at my appointment that Dr. Ajam was no longer a practitioner at Carolina Pain Institute. Without any forknowedge, I was left without a prescribing physician for my pain management medication. This sent me into a tailspin to find a pain management physician that could prescribe me my pain medication. I feel as he knew he was leaving and didn't bother to let his patients know so that I(we) could find another physician is just wrong in every sense of the word. The pain management field has very few providers and doesn't leave pain sufferers with very many options in regards to our pain. While it is true he is very knowledgeable in his field of expertise, the fact that he would knowingly walk out on his patients as well as his staff is inconsiderate on so many levels. I definitely wouldn't recommend him to treat any patient(s).
